What was being gay in the sixties like? Guy Baldwin tells it like it was being 18 and kicked out of his home for being a homosexual. Guy tells how the WW2 veteran community took him in and taught him what a new family could be. Hardy Haberman in Dallas tells of bars that would warn gay patrons that the vice squad was about to raid and men had to find a female dance partner or risk going to jail. Race Bannon tells of Chicago and the famous gay bars that formed the basis of gay community. Race is an activist in San Francisco now and advises the city council on gay rights. Join us for a two hour tour of how human rights were violated and gay rights didn’t even exist. Three legends of the gay community in the United States tell it like it was, then and now. These are recordings from years back and some on the past timely events were edited out. The story that is told is so important that no matter if you are gay or straight, it’s worth a listen to see how we should not allow people to take away our rights. Guy Baldwin, M.S.
